Melissa earned her Registered Nursing degree from Great Basin College in 2005, followed by her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, graduating Cum Laude. She then graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013 with her Master’s of Science in Nursing.

She has worked in the nursing field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a Registered Nurse specializing in the Emergency Room, and an Advanced Practice Nurse for a total of 11 years. In 2012, she was awarded the Nurse of the Year Award at Northern Nevada Medical Center. She was also instrumental in the certification process for the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval granted to the Pain Management Center at Northern Nevada Medical Center. Melissa was born and raised in Platteville, Wisconsin, and moved to Nevada with her family when she was 19.

She joined Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists in 2013, and is excited about working with Dr. Patterson to help patients relieve their pain and find a happier, healthier them.
